Wastes emanating from poultry processing and shrimping industries in Nigeria are mostly biodegradable and are usually dumped in the open on available land. The wastes being proteins putrify, gases such as ammonia, carbon dioxide among others are usually released during the process of biodegradation. These gases contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer and the phenomenon has been a source of concern to the environmentalists because of its effect on the global warming. In addition, the decomposition of these wastes could have significant implications on public health resulting from the growth of deleterious micro-organism during the process. The results of this study showed that combination of poultry offal meal and crayfish waste meal can successfully be used to replace fish meal in the diet of chicken (broiler) without adverse effect on performance.

The rapid increase in world’s energy use is one of the main concerns of today’s world. This energy use has high environmental impacts such as depletion of ozone layer, global warming, climate change etc.This research has taken a step forward towards solving these problems. This research focuses on developing a control strategy for an open plan office building located in Glasgow (Scotland). The building has been investigated using a dynamic thermal simulation tool known as Integrated Environmental Solution (IES). Different simulations were performed to get an optimum control strategy for hybrid ventilation system. The criteria that was used to select best control strategy was based on CIBSE overheating criterion. Based on this criterion a better control strategy was evaluated for hybrid ventilation system.

Environmental pollution occurs due to release of harmful gases from industrial units. It results in the form of acid rain either wet or dry form. Factories, vehicles, power stations and industries burn fossil fuels and produce harmful gases, comprising sulfur dioxide, or oxides of nitrogen, which become the major course of acid rain. Acid rain sometimes falls in the form of precipitation which can be snow, rain, dew or fog. Dry deposition is absorption of particles such as polluting gases, dust particles and gaseous elements by the surface of the Earth. The pH level of acid rain may be less than 7 but when the concentration of pollutants increases in the atmosphere, it further decreases and strong acids like sulfuric and nitric acid are formed. Acid rain induces visible lesion injury on plant shoots and on other tissues. It also destroys epicuticular wax; reduces photosynthetic rate and chlorophyll contents. Acid rain in plants can considerably reduce plant height, number of leaves, fresh and dry weight contents. The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of simulated acid rain on the growth performance of Wheat and Oat crops.

In Today’s world global warming is being increasing year by year. There are many reasons like pollution, deforestation, water contamination, etc...In coming years the major problem before us is depletion of ozone layer which is caused by the release of CFC’s. Some of the equipment which causes this effect is refrigerators, AC’s. In this project we are mainly focusing on a solution to control this problem we have focused on refrigerators which releases CFC’s. Here we are designing a mini solar based refrigerator which is cheaper as well as eco-friendly. In this project we are using solar panels for charging a Lead Acid Battery, a pelteir thermoelectric device which when connected to battery generates cooling effect on one side and heat is dissipated on other side through heat sink, a cooling fan is used for dissipating the heat from the heat sink.
Atmosphere is covering the earth like blanket, having so many major and minor gases including unwanted and dangerous gases like – Green House Gases (GHGs), Methane (CH4), Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) etc. There is a hue and cry globally regarding the increasing amount of these gases due to the unchecked and greedy human activities. The concentration of these gases is felt worldwide in the form of global warming, climate change, ozone depletion, acidic rainfall, environmental degradation, desertification, deforestation, natural disasters etc. so, it is the need of the hour to develop better understanding about the atmosphere, in which we are living and interacting regularly, and different atmospheric phenomenon taking place. This dictionary is a very small effort in this direction. Hopefully, this dictionary will prove its work.
