"The impact of capital investments in the American Recovery Act of 2009" analyzed the $48 billion awarded to the US Department of Transportation under the Recovery Act. The study addressed the questions of the contribution of capital investments to GDP growth, and to employment growth. The empirical results revealed that capital investments in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 contributed to the GDP growth, and to employment growth.
This study investigates the short-run impact of fiscal consolidation on economic growth in Eurozone since Global Financial Crisis. The paper exclusively focuses on the effects of fiscal policy on economic growth in the short-run without covering the long term relationship since there is a general consensus that fiscal consolidation has direct and indirect positive effects on growth. We find negative short-run correlation between fiscal consolidation and growth in the Eurozone. Fiscal consolidation during a fragile economic recovery will dampen aggregate demand and increase unemployment in the short-run.

Aruba pulled off a remarkable economic recovery after the shutdown of the Lago oil refinery in 1986. Largely fuelled by the rapid expansion of the tourism industry, real gross domestic product growth rates averaged at 4.8 percent during the period 1986-1992. Yet in more recent years, growth rates have diminished and it has become evident that Aruba is unlikely to sustain its growth record relying solely on an expansionary tourism industry. By applying the Growth Diagnostic methodology this work analyses the binding constraint to growth in Aruba.
A pot experiment was conducted to study the comparative effectiveness of rhizobacteria containing either ACC-deaminase and/or nitrogen fixing activity for promoting growth of tomato (Lycopersicon esculantum Mill) in pot trial. Isolation of rhizobacteria containing ACC- deaminase and/or nitrogen fixing ability was done by dilution plate technique. Characterization of selected isolates like root colonization, ACC-deaminase activity and indole acetic acid production was done. Seeds of tomato were inoculated with broth of selected isolates. Hoagland nutrient solution was used to provide nutrition. The results showed that rhizobacteria containing both ACC-deaminase and nitrogen fixing activity were more effective than rhizobacteria containing either ACC-deaminase or nitrogen fixing activity alone for growth promotion of tomato under controlled condition.
Triphala (tri - three, phala -fruits) made of Embelica officinalis, Terminalia belerica and Terminalia chebula fruits. Triphala is regarded as the safest non-habit forming laxative. There are many research studies conducted on Triphala for their best medicinal properties and found effective respectively, growth inhibitory activity against HIV, antioxidant activity, promotes healing of infected wound, antimutagenic activity, anti- arthritic activity, antidiabetic activity, antitumor activity, anticancer activity, hypolipidaemic activity, good radio protector, analgesic, antipyretic and ulcerogenic activities. I have intended this book to provide the most up-to-date information about Triphala. I have reviewed available data on Triphala. I have kept in mind a broad range of readers in both academia and industry.
This book demonstrates the impact of Ultraviolet radiation on growth and some physiological processes of the green microalgae. The effect of UV-B on growth, pigments, photosynthetic activity, membrane stability, protein patterns and activity of some antioxidant enzymes are discussed. In addition, adaptation of the studied microalgae to high doses of UV-B radiation and the role of white light in cell reactivation were studied.
